FISHERMEN OF SORRENTO

For 70 years Lorenzo and his brother have battled the elements in the Bay of Naples. Watched over by Vesuvius under a night sky, they venture into the bay, their livelihoods depending on their inherent skill and knowledge of the ocean. The work is dangerous, the saltwater bites at weathered hands and the uncertainty of the days catch always follows them. A quiet but deep-rooted resilience is in their nature, forged by generations of seafaring ancestors before them. In Sorrento, like so many small fishing communities, the life of a fisherman is a testament to perseverance and respect for the sea.
